FF Week 1 Report: Deadly Space Turnips vs. Zulu Nation

Week 1. In one sense it's an ending, all the preseason preparation finally produces a result. In another sense, it's a beginning to a journey of domination. What bigger way to start the season against the rivals...ZULU NATION.

Why is Zulu Nation the rival of the Turnips? Simple: In the 2 years of the Turnip's existence, they're 1-3 against Zulu Nation, and 23-7 against everyone else. This is the third year in a row we've had to face each other twice.

Without further ado, here are the results:

Highlights:

Face of the franchise, and this week's MVP: Reggie Wayne.

Greg Jennings touchdown on a sweet play fake to beat the bears.

Rookie Percy Harvin's first career TD

News & Notes:

I had to release Domenik Hixon. He got lost in the Giants WR shuffle, and only came away with 1 catch for 10 yards. His replacement is one of my favorite young players (and plays on my favorite team): Andre Caldwell. The man tweets, and he joins Percy as the 2nd ex-gator WR on the team.

Jerious Norwood's roster spot on the Turnips isn't secure. He was solid as a receiver with 5 catches, but Eric Weems did the kick returning. To stay on this team he has to return kicks. If not, Kevin Faulk is the front-runner to replace him. He returned all but 1 of the kicks Monday night, and gets decent points for his receptions. I'd much prefer the upside of Norwood, so it depends on Jerious's status as a KR.
